ABOUT US...
The NJAA is an
affiliation of junior sections of angling clubs from across
England. We are a voluntary organisation run by our members, for our
members. We host independent fishing competitions for teams of junior
anglers, and provide the chance for any club or team to join us
and fish against the best young anglers in the country.
The Association was first established in 1957.
In the early years, our
membership was very strong in the North of England, and most of
the competitions were fished on northern canals and rivers. You
can see the history of our competition winners in our Trophy
Cabinet.
The
Association has moved with the times, and expanded to include the entire
country. Now we fish a wide variety of natural waters and
commercial match venues. Our matches are the best-attended in the
country, and attract the very cream of young British match
angling talent.

Come and join us and
support the next generation of superstar match anglers.

WHY
DO WE HOST THESE COMPETITIONS?
In
any sport, young stars need the chance to compete at a high
level to practice and showcase their skills. Our events provide
a platform for young anglers to show what they can do,
without adding unnecessary pressure from parents and coaches, who are not
allowed to interfere with play in our matches.
We
aim to host friendly, but competitive fishing matches that are
open to any fishing club, team
or group of young coarse anglers that want to enter and enjoy
the experience of team competition.
By
fishing on a variety of venues, we
provide the opportunity for young anglers to gain vital
experience of many different methods of coarse angling. Many of
our competitors have gone on to great things, winning regional
and national, junior and senior events. Some of them have
reached the highest level in the sport by being chosen to
represent their country at International Championships. We are
proud of our history, and proud of the fair and friendly way we
run our events.

HOW
CAN YOU HELP?
Are
you a fishery owner or fishing club that would like to support
junior match anglers?
Do
you work for a company that would like to sponsor a sport that
this country excels at, and is inclusive to all children
regardless of physical size, ability, gender or social
background?
The
NJAA provides our own trophies for winners of our competitions.
These are paid for out of the entry fee that teams pay to enter
the contests and from our annual affiliation fees. However, we
welcome sponsorship from business, tackle manufacturers and
individuals, which we can use to provide additional prizes for
the winning children to take home.
Aside
from spiraling insurance costs, one
of the greatest burdens on the NJAA is the peg fees that we are
charged to use fisheries. Even though it should be in the
interest of any forward-thinking fishery owner to promote junior
matches, some still charge us the peg fee, and this means that
we are left with less resources to provide prizes and trophies
for our winning individuals and teams. If you would like to
sponsor one of our matches, please contact
us

you for visiting our website.
